Quantitative Group Model Building
This 10-session group model building process (GMB) provides a comprehensive approach to developing a quantified System Dynamics model, ensuring thorough understanding, validation, and refinement. Participants engage in both qualitative and quantitative modeling, leading to actionable insights and well-informed decision-making.
By the end of this process, participants will have collaboratively identified and articulated the problem, developed and refined causal loop diagrams (CLDs), and transitioned to creating detailed stock and flow diagrams. They will quantify these elements, run initial and advanced simulations, and conduct sensitivity analyses to validate the model’s behavior. The final session will focus on designing policy interventions, simulating various scenarios, and presenting the comprehensive model and findings to stakeholders, along with discussing next steps and potential improvements.
Here is an overview of an itinerary for a quantitative GMB process. NOTE: each model is tailored to a specific problem, so the actual session may be different from what is described.
